Maine-based cancer care practice expands to NH
New England Cancer Specialists, a Scarborough-based provider of medical oncology services with branches in Kennebunk and Topsham, has expanded to New Hampshire.
The group practice now serves patients from space formerly occupied by Portsmouth Regional Hospital, at 155 Borthwick Ave., near downtown Portsmouth. Staff members from the hospital oncology team, including Dr. Yoko Fukuda, have joined NECS, according to a news release.
NECS is an independent practice that includes nearly half of Maine’s board-certified medical oncologists. The Portsmouth branch, which opened Tuesday, offers a variety of cancer and infusion therapies, as well as financial advocacy, genetic counseling, palliative care services, social work and other “wrap-around” services.
NECS Medical Director Dr. Devon Evans said, “We are proud to bring our services to the people of Portsmouth and the Seacoast. Our five decades of experience in leading-edge cancer care all come down to making sure we do everything we can for every patient we see."
