The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state remains steady at $2.37 for the second week in a row.
During that same period, the average national price for a gallon of gas jumped by a single penny to $2.37, according to the popular price-tracking website GasBuddy.
The $2.37 statewide average reported on Tuesday morning is higher than both New Hampshire's average $2.28 price per gallon and Vermont's average price of $2.35 per gallon.
“Gasoline prices have continued a mild run higher across much of the country, though in the Great Lakes, gas prices have been on a tear," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com. "In the last month, no one has seen close to the pain exhibited throughout the Midwest. Average gas prices in Michigan are up nearly 50 cents in the last month, followed by Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin, who have seen a jump of over 30 cents in a month, largely at the hands of various refinery woes and insatiable demand for gasoline."
