Maine health orgs receive federal $$

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $3.2 million in grants to health organizations throughout Maine.
The grants, which will fund research, training and rural health care initiatives, include nearly $1.4 million to the Maine Department of Health and Human Services; $660,000 to the University of Southern Maine; $179,950 to the Maine Primary Care Association in Augusta; and $125,000 to the Sacopee Valley Health Center in Parsonsfield, according to a joint press release from Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.
