Maine saw a slight increase in overall personal income in the third quarter of 2012, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Overall Maine earnings grew .65% from the second quarter of 2012 to the third quarter while national earnings showed a .5% increase in the same comparison.
Maine saw steady growth in personal income figures through 2012 after a period of quarterly fluctuations from 2008 to late 2010.
Maine's total personal income figure comes in at nearly $52.9 billion, an increase of $2 billion over the same quarter in 2011. Other New England states reported total personal incomes in the third quarter of 2012 of Vermont, $27.2 billion; Rhode Island, $47.1 billion; New Hampshire, $62.2 billion; Connecticut, $211.1 billion; and Massachusetts, $361.5 billion.
