Maine State Credit Union has promoted four employees to vice president and management positions.
Lavetta Denson has been promoted to vice president, regional retail manager. In this new role, she will oversee all branches and work with managers to create a "member-centric experience" across the branch network. Denson was previously the branch manager at the 200 Capitol St. branch in Augusta.
Jennifer Chipman has been promoted to vice president, new business development manager. This is also a newly created role, in which Chipman will work with commercial, mortgage and branch teams to promote the credit union and its services. Chipman was previously the branch manager in Rockland.
“Both Lavetta and Jenn are natural leaders,” said Shane Abbott, senior vice president and chief retail officer. “They each have a lot to teach others and will excel in building out each of these new teams.”
Hillary Jackson has been promoted to branch manager in Rockland. She will assume leadership of the branch and work closely with Denson and Chipman to continue to expand the presence of the Maine State Credit Union along the coast. Jackson was previously the assistant branch manager in Rockland.
Michele Lyons has been elevated to the position of branch manager in Waterville. Lyons has been part of the Waterville team for many years and was previously the assistant branch manager.

Each of these individuals will flourish in their new roles and continue to help to drive the success of the organization.”
Maine State Credit Union, headquartered in Augusta, has more than $650 million in assets and 120 employees. The credit union was founded in 1935 inside the Maine State House as a savings institution for state employees, and today more than 35,000 members.
MSCU ranks No. 3 among the largest Maine-based credit unions, according to the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists. The ranking is based on the credit union's assets of Sept. 30, 2023.
