Eight Maine businesses and nonprofit leaders will be honored at the Mainebiz Women to Watch ceremony this Thursday in Portland, at the first live Mainebiz event since before the pandemic.
The 2021 event marks the 13th year for the annual Women to Watch awards, which recognize female trailblazers across the state and in a variety of sectors.
This year's honorees include attorney and entrepreneur Krystal Williams, who aims to become the employer of choice for layers of color wanting to make a difference in Maine, and Polly Mahoney, a Maine Master Guide who develops eco-cultural tourism with indigenous people and mentors apprentices in guiding and animal care.

In 13 years of the program, Mainebiz has honored 63 Women to Watch.
Thursday's event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Halo at the Point at Thompson's Point, where attendees can be indoors or outdoors.
For health and safety reasons, Mainebiz is asking all non-vaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors and when they cannot socially distance themselves outside.
Mainebiz continues to closely monitor and follow the COVID-19 requirements from the governing authorities for all of our office and event locations whether that be the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, state or local officials. Our venue partners may have other guidelines in place.
Those who are interested in celebrating with us can register here for an in-person or virtual ticket.
This year's reception is sponsored by Drummond Woodsum, Delta Dental, TD Bank and Vistage.
