Mainebiz said today it has partnered with WCSH 6 in Portland and WLBZ 2 in Bangor to develop and launch a new weekly business television program.
The show will premier in January 2009 on Sunday mornings following NBC's Meet the Press. Alan Hinsey of ACH Productions will produce and host the program. Hinsey recently announced his resignation as economic development specialist for the Knox/Waldo Regional Economic Development Council to pursue the television project. Hinsey was at KWREDC, a branch of the Eastern Maine Development Corp. in Bangor, for almost four years and was director of the Bureau of Labor Standards under Gov. Angus King.
The 30-minute television show will feature stories and news content provided by the Mainebiz editorial staff. The talk show and interview format will offer discussions with Maine CEOs and business leaders, as well as economic policy experts throughout Maine.
In addition to the weekly Sunday statewide broadcast on WCSH and WLBZ, the Mainebiz program will be accessible 24/7 as streaming video on the WCSH/WLBZ websites and the Mainebiz website, www.mainebiz.biz.
Congratulations, that is really wonderful news. What a great idea, I'm looking forward to it.
Excellent idea! I'm so glad to see Maine focusing on the local business climate/issues. Any exposure is greatly appreciated.
Right on! There are so many success stories out there that need to be in the spotlight in a time of general bad news about the economy. Good timing!
Great news! Sunday morning news worth watching! I'll be there with my coffee!
I've always thought Mainebiz is the best source for Maine business news in the state... now to have a TV show devoted to this excellence is awesome!
