In a press release, majority owner Mark Just said he is exploring all options to "keep the team intact... including selling to local investors or others, looking at relocation options and/or seeking additional sources of funding within the state of Maine." Other team officials told the Sun Journal that rumors that the team would fold and its players redistributed through the league are false, though minority owner Wendell Young said that could change.
In 2009, rumors surfaced that the team would cease playing at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee and relocate to a Canadian city, but the team said it would stay put.
