The Maine Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $335,479 to 25 Maine organizations through its Belvedere Historic Preservation and Energy Efficiency Fund.
Established by an anonymous donor in 2007, the fund supports the preservation, restoration, and retrofitting of historic buildings in Maine.
The latest round of recipients include the Fifth Maine Regiment Museum on Peaks Island, which was awarded $20,000 to replace the roof of a historically significant building, and the Mount Desert Island Historical Society, which received $7,400 to paint the exterior and interior of the Selectman's Building in Somesville.
The next application deadline for grants is June 1, 2020. More information and applications are available online.
