New CEO to lead St. Joseph Hospital

A Connecticut health executive is replacing Sister Mary Norberta as president and CEO of St. Joseph Healthcare and St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor.

The health care group's board of directors, along with Massachusetts parent organization Covenant Health Systems, on Wednesday selected Mary Prybylo to lead the organization beginning in September, according to the Bangor Daily News. Previously, Prybylo managed operations, physician partnerships and strategic initiatives at Waterbury Hospital Health Center in Connecticut. Board Chairman Edwin Clift say Prybylo will bring new ideas to the nonprofit Catholic health care organization and its 112-bed hospital.

St. Joseph Healthcare has 900 employees and an annual operating budget of more than $80 million. Sister Norberta has led the organization for 29 years and will retire.
