Earth at Hidden Pond, a Kennebunkport restaurant and event space, hired an executive chef to start immediately.
Joseph A. Schafer was chef de cuisine at the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk. He has led kitchens in Montana, upstate New York and, most recently, The Lodge in Bradford, Pa. He started Tuesday.
“Joe really understands the luxury resort guest and has proven time and again that he knows how to meet and exceed their fine dining expectations,” Tim Harrington, founding partner of the Kennebunkport Resort Collection, said. “We fully appreciate that our guests choose Hidden Pond for their family vacations, romantic getaways or even weddings for many reasons, and food is a top priority.”
The Kennebunk Resort Collection includes Hidden Pond, the Kennebunk Inn, the Tides Beach Club, the Cottages at Cabot Cove, the Grand Hotel, the Boathouse Waterfront Hotel, Cape Arundel Inn & Resort and the Lodge on the Cove. In addition to Earth, it owns five restaurants in Kennebunkport. The sites host weddings and corporate events.
Hidden Pond is located at 354 Goose Rocks Road, Kennebunkport.
Schafer and his wife, a native of the Kennebunks, have relocated with their two children back to Kennebunkport.
