A New Mexico-based company that develops and manufactures communications devices plans to invest over $3 million in two facilities in Camden.
The investment by Sierra Peaks Corp. is expected to create more than two dozen manufacturing jobs with a potential for future growth, according to a press release from the governor’s office. Gov. Paul LePage offered his commitment to allow the company to grow in Maine.
Sierra Peaks, which started in 1960, will build acoustic miniature microphones and other devices at the two facilities. The company serves clients that work in federal government, military, law enforcement and commercial sectors, including aerospace, automation and biometrics.
John E. Rockwell III,, president of the company, credited Jaimie Logan, an account executive with the state Department of Economic and Community Development, for playing an integral role in assisting Sierra Peaks.
No further details about the facilities or their location were provided in the press release. Sierra Peaks has a 25,000 square-foot facility in Albuquerque, N.M., and a 1,500 square-foot office in Fairfax, Va.
