New hires

New England Cancer Specialists in Scarborough hired Edwin Graham as CEO and Jonathan Proulx as a member of its medical team. Graham, who has three decades of experience as a health care executive, most recently served as regional vice president of OneOncology in Nashville, Tenn. Proulx will see patients primarily at the agency’s Portsmouth, N.H., office while also practicing in Kennebunk.

Sevee & Maher Engineers, a civil and environmental engineering consulting firm in Cumberland, hired Thomas Neilson as a senior geologist and Peter Mohlin as an environmental compliance specialist.

Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors LLC in Portland hired Annie Perley and Gerrit Petersons as service advisors.

Cross Insurance in Bangor hired Joshua Randlett as vice president and corporate counsel. Most recently, Randlett was a judge in the Maine District Court, a position appointed by Gov. Janet Mills and confirmed by the Maine Legislature.

RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland hired JoAnn Paladino and Jess Paladino as brokers and Josh Charette and Tim O’Neill as Realtors. The four make up Team Paladino at the agency.

Auburn Savings hired Michelle Rouleau as CFO/executive vice president and Jon Svor as IT manager and assistant vice president, respectively. Both Rouleau and Svor were previously with MidCoast Federal Credit Union.

Promotions

Auburn Savings promoted Bob Michaud to senior vice president and senior lender and Brian Casey to vice president. Michaud was vice president and lender while Casey was assistant vice president.

Norway Savings Bank promoted Lin Dehetre to vice president, market manager and mortgage loan officer in Auburn and Gray.

Chewonki, a school, camp and environmental education organization in Wiscasset, promoted Nancy Kennedy to acting president. She was previously senior vice president.

Machias Savings Bank announced several promotions. Jill Blanch, brand experience manager; Krystle Currier, retail loan administration; Jody Dennison, accounting; Tim Goff, branch manager, Presque Isle; Russ Johnston, business banker, Portland; Shauna MacDonald, human resources manager; and Stephanie Page, physical security officer, were promoted to vice president. Rachel Anderson, business banker, Houlton; Joanna Bagley, senior retail loan underwriter; Christine Cram, branch manager, Portland; Alex Currier, business banker, Machias; Brandon Cyr, business banking portfolio manager; Vicki Garnett, senior retail loan underwriter; Cindy Leighton, mortgage specialist, Calais; Michael Lenfestey, retail loan team leader; Annie Morris, senior credit risk specialist; Gianna Lunn, digital experience manager; Danielle Violette, card payment solutions officer; and Jennifer Walter, mortgage specialist, Bar Harbor, were promoted to assistant vice president.

Appointments

The Junior League of Portland elected Elisabelle Bocal as president for the 2022-23 fiscal year, which began June 1. Bocal is reunion gift officer at the University of New England.

Kennebec Valley Tourism Council announced its board officers for 2022-23. Mike Guarino, owner of Maine Wilderness Tours, was named chair; Cheryl Nadeau, town manager of Jackman, vice chair; and Kimberly Lindlof, president and CEO of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and executive director of Central Maine Growth Council, treasurer. In addition, the council said Kristina Cannon, executive director of Main Street Skowhegan, will remain as chair of its marketing committee.

Northern Maine SCORE named Steve Campbell as chapter chair.

Achievements

U.S. News & World Report named Maine Medical Center in Portland as the “No. 1 hospital in Maine for 2022-23” for a 10th straight year. The Report also rated the center as “high performing” in 14 common procedures and conditions included in the annual survey of U.S. hospitals.

The Maine Film Center in Waterville announced the winners of the Tourmaline and Audience Favorite Prizes from the 25th annual Maine International Film Festival. Sunner, written and directed by Henry Spritz, captured the “Tourmaline Prize in the Feature-Length Film” category; Le Carrefour (The Intersection), directed by Daniel Quintanilla and Jessamine Irwin, won the “Tourmaline Prize in the Short Film” category; and Hopeful: The Story of MaineWorks, directed by Ian McCrudden, was named the “Audience Favorite Award” winner.

Conservatives for a Clean Energy Future, a national nonprofit advancing state-based clean energy policy solutions, recognized state Rep. Nathan Carlow as a “Clean Energy Champion.”

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor said it achieved two accreditations, one as a “Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery” and another as a “Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery,” by Surgical Review Corp. In addition, Surgical Specialists Daniel Hetherman, Matthew Sharbaugh and Michelle Toder earned a “Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery” designation while Hetherman and Sharbaugh also achieved “Surgeon of Excellence in Hernia Surgery” designation.

The American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines initiative recognized the Aroostook Medical Center, Central Maine Medical Center, Eastern Maine Medical Center, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Northern Light Mercy Hospital and Pen Bay Medical Center for their work to improve outcomes for Americans who experience heart disease or stroke.
