Donating home goods, clothing and furniture in Maine is getting easier thanks to a new partnership between Goodwill Northern New England and ReSupply.

ReSupply is a veteran-owned donation hauling company, with locations nationwide, that will pick up your furniture, clothing, appliances and more.

Mainers looking to donate items to Goodwill can pay a small fee for ReSupply haulers to come to their homes, pick up the items and deliver them to a local branch of Goodwill. ReSupply will take any items Goodwill won't take to other charities.

The partnership will begin in Greater Portland and expand elsewhere in Maine over the coming weeks.

“Getting to a donation center can be difficult for some folks, especially if they have large, bulky items like furniture,” said Rick Mooney, Goodwill’s director of logistics. “Our goal is to make donating easier and more accessible for our communities by offering donation pickups.”

ReSupply will initially serve residents near Biddeford, South Portland, Gorham, Westbrook, Falmouth, Windham, Topsham and Brunswick.

“We hope our donors find value in this alternative donating option,” said Mooney. “If it’s not your cup of tea, our donation specialists are ready for you at our stores.”

To schedule a pickup, visit the Goodwill website and ReSupply will reach out to coordinate a pickup within 24 to 48 hours.

Goodwill Northern New England is a nonprofit that covers Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The organization has more than 1,500 employees. In addition to 29 stores, Goodwill offers workforce development, disability and brain injury programs that support more than 17,000 people each year.
