Nyer Medical Group, one of Maine's handful of publicly-traded companies, has sold its Bangor-based division and will move its corporate headquarters to Massachusetts, Nyer President and CEO Mark Dumouchel told Mainebiz this morning.
Nyer Medical Group in September sold its Bangor-based surgical and medical equipment supply business, ADCO Surgical Supply Inc., for an undisclosed price to Anand Patel, an individual from Florida, Dumouchel said. Dumouchel says Nyer sold ADCO Surgical Supply, which employs between 12 and 15 in Bangor, to focus on the part of its business that generates 90% of its revenue -- an 11-store pharmacy chain in the greater Boston area called Eaton Apothecary. "We thought it best to focus on our core mission," Dumouchel said. "There weren't any synergies between the companies."
Now that Nyer has shed ADCO Surgical Supply, it will move its corporate offices to Holliston, Mass., where Eaton Apothecary's headquarters are located, Dumouchel said.
