AMEC, an international engineering and project management company based in Pennsylvania, said today it has acquired OEST Associates Inc. in South Portland.
OEST, an engineering and architecture firm headquartered in South Portland, with a satellite office near Orlando, Fla. AMEC said its acquisition of OEST strengthens its mechanical, electrical and structural engineering and architecture services, and bolsters its civil engineering design and sustainable design resources.
Harvey Oest, president and founder of OEST, said that joining AMEC would offer new opportunities for its clients and staff. "As part of a growing and dynamic global organization, clients will have access to a broader array of services and our staff will see new technical and professional opportunities open up across the nation and abroad," Oest said in a press release from AMEC.
OEST, founded in 1982, has more than 100 employees serving clients in the private and public sectors.
OEST will continue under its current name for a short interim period, until the conversion to AMEC is completed.
