Oxford County casino moves ahead
A spokesperson for the proposed casino in Oxford County says an announcement will be made in the next two months about investors in the project.
Pat LaMarche, the casino project's spokesperson, told the Sun Journal in Lewiston that she has been in talks with a number of investors over the past several months and that an announcement will be made before Sept. 4. The Rumford Economic Development Committee tomorrow night will discuss possibly locating the casino in that town.
Meanwhile, the Rumford lawyer who founded the Oxford County casino effort has returned to the campaign to help promote the casino plan around the state, according to the Sun Journal. In April, Seth Carey resigned from the campaign because of issues related to his professional conduct as an attorney.
