Popular Kennebunkport eatery abruptly closes
David’s KPT, a popular restaurant opened by renowned chef David Turin in Kennebunkport in 2013, abruptly closed without notice to employees.
Seacoastonline.com reported that Kennebunkport Resort Collection Founding Partner Tim Harrington made the announcement in a press release. Turin told the publication that, like the restaurant’s employees, he didn’t see the closing coming.
“I’m super proud of what we did there, but at the end of the day, I was an employee of the KRC, too,” he said.
In the release, Harrington said the space will reopen with “a new concept to be revealed in early 2018.”
The restaurant seated 1,000 to 1,200 people per day. Turin has three restaurants in the Portland area — David’s, David’s Opus 10 and David’s 388.
