Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting firm with headquarters in Portland, is expanding in Massachusetts.
The firm, which already has a downtown Boston office as well as two in New Hampshire, has leased 6,000 square feet of space in Woburn, Mass., according to a news release.
The space at 600 Unicorn Park, a business campus about 10 miles north of Boston, will accommodate up to 30 Baker Newman employees. The firm plans to build out the office over coming weeks and move in before the end of the year.
“We are finding that today’s workforce wants to work closer to where they live and play. Our new offices in Woburn will allow for more creative ways to use our space and enhance our service to clients in Massachusetts,” said Baker Newman Managing Principal Dayton Benway in the release.
The new branch will be led by Bob Croak, who also oversees the firm’s Boston location, and will initially employ about 15 staff.
Baker Newman Noyes is looking to add 15 to 20 employees over the next year or two. It currently has 265 employees and is ranked the fifth-largest regional accounting firm in New England by total revenue, according to Accounting Today magazine.
The firm provides a variety of accounting, audit, tax and consulting services for clients in finance, health care, manufacturing, the public sector and other areas. Baker Newman Noyes expanded to Boston in 2011.
