Law firm Murray Plumb & Murray has named Portland resident as director and shareholder of the firm as of Jan. 1.
Sage Friedman has been with Murray Plumb & Murray since 2017 and focuses his practice on business, corporate, and commercial real estate law. He brings more than 15 years of business experience as an entrepreneur and consultant.
Before joining the firm, he was a principal at Fire Lane 17, a Maine company that offered long-term consulting services to select entrepreneurs, investors, and established small businesses.
According to the Murray Plumb & Murray website, while living and working in New York City, Friedman and a partner founded Theobroma LLC, in a joint venture, founded Chocolat Michel Cluizel to operate as the flagship U.S. retailer for multigenerational bean-to-bonbon chocolatier Michel Cluizel of France. Before that entrepreneurial venture, he worked as an associate at a New York boutique investment firm.
Friedman earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law and held a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management and a B.A. in economics from Vassar College.
