Hurley Travel Experts, a Portland-based travel agency founded in 1993, has been acquired by the larger, Denver-based Direct Travel Inc.
The Portland Press Herald reported that Hurley Travel will retain its name and all of its 52 employees across its Portland and Naples, Fla., offices as a result of the acquisition, for which financial details were not disclosed. Hurley has annual revenue of $60 million, according to the newspaper.
Pamela Hurley Moser, the company’s CEO and president, has signed on to stay in her role for three years.
Jane Delson, the company’s director of business development, told the newspaper that Hurley Moser decided to sell the company for multiple reasons, including Hurley Moser’s plan to step aside after leading a successful business for 21 years. The company also will be able to take advantage of Direct Travel’s resources, she added.
