Reflecting new uses for traditional mall retail spaces, plans are underway for three medical and professional offices to fill the Best Buy and Dollar Tree vacancies at the strip mall at 105 Topsham Fair Mall Road.
Developer Nathan Bateman, vice president of Portland-based Bateman Partners, told The Forecaster that the offices are expected to open in June. Allied Cook Construction will handle the renovation. The offices will occupy approximately 40,000 square feet at the mall, which is about 47,000 square feet overall.
“Not only is it a plus to re-establish a premier tenancy in an area where we had lost tenants, but I think it speaks very well for the flexibility in future development of the mall in terms of mixed uses being compatible in an area that’s built to accommodate quick access and high traffic,” John Shattuck, Topsham’s economic and community development director, told the newspaper.
As reported by Mainebiz, 105 Topsham Fair Mall LLC purchased neighboring 105 Topsham Fair Mall, a 45,469-square-foot retail building on 4.44 acres, from seller AB Holdings Co. LLC for $5.14 million. That transaction closed Dec. 14, 2017.
