Maine business owner Kip Stone has bought a vacant building in downtown Brunswick, with plans to turn it into three retail and restaurant spaces.
Stone, owner of retail chain Cool as a Moose and a Westbrook-based clothing screen-printing company called Artforms Inc., has purchased the 31,000-square-foot former Grand City building on Maine Street, according to a press release. Stone plans to turn one of the three retail spots into a Cool as a Moose location, and is actively seeking tenants for the other two spaces, including a restaurant. Stone will use the remainder of the building for office and production space for his two businesses. The purchase price was not disclosed. The building, which housed the Grand City restaurant and retail shop, has been vacant for over a year.
Cool as a Moose is a specialty retail shop featuring Maine-made items, with locations in Portland, Freeport, Halifax and Quebec City, and a flagship store in Bar Harbor.
