Retailers bring new jobs to Hermon

Two new retail stores in Hermon are expected to add 50 jobs by next year.

Community officials yesterday announced that Hermon True Value Hardware and Family Dollar will locate in the Hermon Shopping Center, with construction scheduled to start immediately, according to the Bangor Daily News. The new retailers will add 30,000 square feet and 50 full- and part-time jobs when they open next spring. The shopping center is already home to Danforth's Supermarket, Seaboard Federal Credit Union, Dunkin' Donuts and Fresh Dough Pizza Co.

Bangor developer Tom Ellis owns the shopping center, which first opened in 2007. Ellis also manages the Great Skates amusement center and Sunrise Plaza in Bangor, according to the paper.
