Building on the momentum of opening its ninth Maine location in Yarmouth earlier this year, OTTO Pizza last week cut the ribbon on its 10th outlet, this time in Auburn.
The operation at 730 Center St., was made possible in part through assistance from the city’s revolving loan fund, which supports businesses hoping to relocate, expand and grow in Auburn.
“The city of Auburn made it a smooth and easy process to establish our business here and I look forward to building long-lasting relationship with the city, while my team and I also focus on providing flexible jobs for those in school and within the recovery community,” Greg Ingrao, one of OTTO owners, said in a news release. The Center Street location is a 90-seat restaurant in Auburn Plaza.
The loan program was established by Auburn City Council in March, using funds from the city’s American Rescue Plan Act allocation. The loans range from $5,000 to $150,000.
The opening is the latest in a flurry of commercial activity in the city, where other new kids on the block include Target, Five Guys, Olive Garden restaurant, Maine Dentistry, Cheesy Skillet, Nutty Netties Café, and factory expansions.
OTTO Pizza now has 10 locations in Maine, 10 in Massachusetts and one in New Hampshire, according to its website.
The Yarmouth store that opened was technically a relocation. OTTO took over the old Maine Roasters location on U.S. Route 1, giving it more space. It had previously been in a shared Main Street location with the take-out spot Thoroughfare.
