The city of Saco is looking to expand housing options and is inviting residents, business owners and developers to share their thoughts at three community “listening sessions” scheduled for this spring.
“The Housing Action Plan will help Saco create a shared vision for its housing goals and policies,” said planning director Emily Cole-Prescott. “This initiative builds on our comprehensive plan which recommends a diversity of housing types throughout the city.”
“These public listening sessions are your opportunity to share your recommendations about housing in Saco.”
Each session will focus on a different section of the city, and all of them will be held at 6 p.m.
Session one will discuss Portland Road/U.S. Route 1, and is scheduled for April 22, at Saco Public Works, 15 Phillips Spring Road.
Session two will focus on downtown Saco and will be held May 7 at Saco City Hall, 300 Main St.
The final session, scheduled for June 4, will discuss the city as a whole, and will also take place at City Hall.
Those interested in participating but cannot attend in person are invited to visit to share their feedback and lean more about the plans online.
There will also be one more opportunity to participate during a public workshop with the city council this summer, before the plan is finalized in early 2026.
