The sale of two Yarmouth buildings that are slated to be developed into townhouse condominiums has become final, said Matt Cardente of Cardente Real Estate.
Waypoint Partners LLC closed on 149 and 153 Main St. for $1.025 million from North Yarmouth Academy on Monday. Waypoint is owned by developer Matt Wogan.
Wogan intends to develop the 6,230 square foot Weld House at 149 Main St. and the 8,866 square foot Shepley house at 153 Main St. into 12 townhouses.
Wogan in June bought 162 Main St., which is across the street, for $475,000.
The townhouse project go the go-ahead from the Planning Board last month. It was the first project to be approved under the town's new character-based zoning rule as well as the ordinance that gives breathing room for those who want to preserve historic properties slated to be demolished.
The plan would remove the newer rear additions to the 177-year-old buildings, and add new construction at the rear of each. The 15,708-square-foot U-shaped development would surround a courtyard facing Main Street.
The plan calls for four two or three-bedroom units and 20 parking spaces, with the parking area behind 149 Main St., the Weld building, expanded to 17, and three more spaces behind 153 Main St. the Shepley building.
