The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting applications for low-interest disaster recovery loans from small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and nonprofits in 15 Maine counties.

The SBA said in a press release that it will take loan applications for damage caused from April to October 2013 in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc and York counties. U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King said in a statement that the SBA will also accept applications for damage in May and September 2013 from heavy rainstorms in Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington counties.

The loans are available for up to $2 million at approximately 2.8% interest for nonprofits and 4% for small businesses.
