Scarborough now has its very own Holy Donut store

Courtesy / Malone Commercial Brokers The Holy Donut's new Scarborough store is located in the 3,080 square-foot former Tim Hortons building at the intersection of Route 1 and the Haigis Parkway and is less than five minutes from the Maine Turnpike.

The Holy Donut has opened its third store — moving into a former Tim Hortons at 398 U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough.

General Manager Jeff Buckwalter was tasked by Holy Donut owner and founder Leigh Kellis with finding space for a new store. Mark Malone, CCIM and Marie Gresik helped The Holy Donut in its search for the best space and location to lease, eventually settling on the 3,080 square-foot Tim Hortons building at the intersection of Route 1 and the Haigis Parkway that’s less than five minutes from the Maine Turnpike.

Buckwalter said in a news release about the move that the Scarborough store will also serve as the main baking facility for Holy Donut’s other Greater Portland locations.

Founder Leigh Kellis was recently awarded Maine’s Small Business Person of the Year by the Maine District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and was a member of the 2015 Mainebiz Next class

Malone Commercial Brokers brokered the transaction, Mark Malone of Malone Commercial Brokers represented Holy Donut and Kevin Fletcher of Malone Commercial Brokers CCIM represented the landlord in the lease negotiations.
