Scrap metal facility proposed for Otis Mill site

The new owner of the former Otis Mill in Jay is proposing to use the property as a scrap metal recycling and storage facility.

The Sun Journal reported that the Jay Planning Board was expected to consider a shoreland zoning permit application for the property on Tuesday.

The owner, MAC Development LLC, plans to lease a four-acre parcel on the property to Clark’s Cars & Parts, a business owned by MAC development’s principal, John Clark III.

The newspaper said Clark plans to use the site to provide export and shipping support for Clark’s other locations. He’s also proposing to install a fuel tank for refueling equipment.
