Some Maine health providers to split $30M

A multi-payer program extended for two years will target $30 million toward 72 Maine primary care practices and 10 Community Care Teams throughout the state.

Those health providers are participating in the Maine Patient Centered Medical Home Pilot and a partnership among Medicare, Medicaid, private payers and employers. The fund extension came from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Multi-Payer Advanced Primary Care Practice Demonstration.

The funds are aimed at continuing to improve the quality of healthcare that more than 660,000 patients receive. Under the pilot program, the practices and care teams redesigned their systems to provide more proactive, patient-centered care to all of their patients in exchange for getting new payments from participating payers, according to a news release.
