Southworth International Group Inc., the parent company of several manufacturers of ergonomic vertical positioning equipment, has hired for its new position of chief people officer.
Tina Turgelsky will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a strategic approach to human resources and talent management.
Her areas of focus at SIGI will include building a scalable game plan and organizational capabilities for growth across the company's regions of operation around the world, the company stated in a press release.
“We welcome Tina in this key role that will help shape the future culture of our established yet growing company,” said James Cabot, CEO of SIGI Global.
Turgelsky previously held positions at IDEXX Laboratories, Corza Medical, Bank of America and as a human resource director for the city of Westbrook. Turgelsky earned a degree in psychology from the University of Southern Maine.
“I grew up in a family-owned business, and I admire the long, successful, and people-focused heritage that is evident at SIGI,” said Turgelsky. “Making a difference in people’s lives is clearly at the forefront of the business strategy and culture.”
SIGI began 125 years ago and was a small printing company called Southworth Press in Portland. The company now owns and operates several companies in the United States, Mexico, Sweden, England, France, Germany and China.
