Nonprofit behavioral health care provider Spurwink has acquired Tri-County Mental Health Services, a nonprofit provider based in Lewiston and serving Androscoggin, Franklin, Oxford, and northern Cumberland counties. Terms were not disclosed.
Spurwink and Tri-County are working together to ensure that services for people with mental health and substance use needs continue without disruption.
“The goals of both of our boards and leadership are to ensure that services continue uninterrupted and that as many people as possible have employment options to continue doing this critical work throughout this transition process,” said Catherine Ryder, CEO of Tri-County Mental Health Services, in a news release Monday.
“Additionally, we are confident that Spurwink will bring administrative efficiencies that will strengthen and expand services for people in Lewiston and the surrounding community.”
Eric Meyer, president and CEO of Spurwink, said, “We are honored to continue the legacy of Tri-County Mental Health Services in meeting the mental health needs of people in Lewiston and western Maine with innovation, care, and respect.
"Our board and senior leadership see this as being fully mission aligned for both organizations, and important for the future of both Spurwink and the communities of Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin Counties.”
The vast majority of services will continue with little change in care delivery for clients, the news release said.
