Tax reform opponents keep word

As promised yesterday, Still Fed Up With Taxes is taking legal action to force the Secretary of State to push forward a petition to repeal a recent tax reform law.

Following its declaration yesterday, the group has directed its lawyer to file a petition in Kennebec County Superior Court to force Secretary of State Matt Dunlap to complete certification of its people's veto petitions, according to the Associated Press and the Bangor Daily News. The state was supposed to verify the signatures, submitted in September, by Oct. 13, but cited delays due to work associated with today's referendum election.

Dunlap told the paper he would finish the certification process "within a week."
