Tilson, a Portland-based IT firm, has acquired the Alabama arm of telecom contractor W.D. Wright Contracting Inc. for an undisclosed price.
According to a company press release the Foley, Ala., acquisition includes a new warehouse, fleet vehicles and deployments for cellular and microwave sites in northern Florida.
Company President Joshua Broder said the expansion will establish the company's southeastern presence and bring the company closer to federal clients at military bases in the Carolinas, Houston and Jacksonville, Fla. It will add staff in Maine, New York, Alabama, North Carolina and Ohio.
Tilson has seen strong growth in recent years, reporting a revenue increase of over 300% from 2009 to 2011 as the company's telecommunications division upgrades wireless carriers from 3G to 4G networks.
W.D. Wright maintains an operation in Pennsylvania that provides design, construciton and operation of wireless telecommunications networks and general contractor services.
