The University of New England and the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs will host a conference tomorrow to showcase the state’s biotechnology industry and its plans for the future.
The MCE Life Sciences Venture Summit is scheduled for Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., at UNE’s Innovation Hall, 772 Stevens Ave., Portland. Admission is $25.
The event is expected to draw biotech CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors, inventors and others, according to the MCE website.
Discussions will cover topics such a launching a biotech company, the culture of entrepreneurship, and the role of incubators and accelerators.
Speakers and panelists include Agnieszka Carpenter, executive director, Bioscience Association of Maine; Bill Keleher, president and CEO, Kennebec River Biosciences; Susan MacKay, CEO, Cerahelix Inc.; Brian Whitney, president, Maine Technology Institute; and roughly two dozen other industry experts.
