Unemployment flat at 7.3% in February
Maine's unemployment rate remained unchanged from one month and one year ago in the latest preliminary figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The percentage of job seekers unable to find work remained at 7.3% for February, just where that figure was in January and in February 2012.
Maine's Center for Workforce Research and Information reported that Maine's unemployment rate remains below the national average, which decreased from 7.9% to 7.7% from January to February of this year.
Maine's employment rate has outpaced national averages for 65 consecutive months.
