United Insurance acquires Farmington agency
Falmouth-based United Insurance has acquired an insurance agency in Farmington.
Shiretown Agency will retain its six employees and Farmington location, according to the Insurance Journal. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition will give United a total of 16 locations in Maine, which includes Bangor, Rumford, Caibou and Auburn. The agency also has an office in Rochester, N.H. According to the agency's website, United employs more than 100 insurance professionals.
