Auburn-based VIP Tires & Services has purchased its third service shop in southern New England, with the acquisition of Tires International in Manchester, Conn. The company operates 35 tire and automotive service shops in Maine and a total of 75 facilities in five states.
Tires International has operated in Manchester for over 26 years, offering both tire replacement and full automotive repair and maintenance services.
Former owner Dale Carney will be staying on as general manager, and VIP has hired all of Tires International’s employees.
Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP said, "Dale has built a solid reputation for the place to go to get high quality tires and automotive repair. This is one of the largest and busiest tire and service shops we’ve seen across New England. Dale's team is filled with skilled automotive technicians and highly motivated customer service professionals who are ready to take advantage of all that VIP has to offer. We can't wait to bring the VIP experience to the Manchester community."
VIP is northern New England’s largest privately held automotive service provider and tire dealer, employing over 750 team members. John Quirk, owner of VIP, and his family have been servicing New England customers for four generations, since 1926.
