Waban Projects, a Sanford agency serving kids and adults with developmental disabilities, has hired a new director of operations who brings more than 10 years of experience to the organization.
Pamela Zagorski was most recently the executive director at the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging. She succeeds Gervaise Flynn, the agency’s deputy director, who has been with Waban Projects for 35 years and will retire at the start of the new year.
"I am pleased to join an organization with a distinguished history of serving people with disabilities," said Zagorski.
Zagorski has experience in nonprofit human services leadership, including as chief financial officer and executive director, and has an extensive background in health care financial management and managed care.
She earned her master of business administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts and her juris doctorate from the Western New England University School of Law.
Waban Projects was founded as Camp Waban in 1966 as a lakeside retreat for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and now employs more than 470 staff members and serves both adults and children. The agency provides direct care, residential services, supported living, case management and clinical services.
