In wake of 'Feeling the Bern,' Ted Cruz to stop in Orono

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will be holding a rally Wednesday for supporters.
Democratic presidential hopeful U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is holding a campaign rally in downtown Portland at the historic State Theatre today, just four days before Maine holds its Democratic caucuses on Sunday.
Sanders announced Wednesday’s Portland rally hours before the polls closed on Super Tuesday, when the candidate picked up victories in his own state of Vermont, along with Colorado, Minnesota and Oklahoma.
Currently Sanders has won 371 delegates, compared to former Secretary of State and Democratic nomination rival Hillary Clinton, who currently has the support of 1,001 delegates following Super Tuesday.
This will be the second time Sanders has visited Portland during the election cycle, as 9,000 people filled the Cross Insurance Arena in July, according to the Bangor Daily News.
'Cruz-ing' into Orono
On Wednesday morning it was announced that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz would also be making a stop in Maine on Friday.
The U.S. senator from Texas will be appearing at the University of Maine’s Hauck Auditorium in Orono at 10:30 a.m. with doors opening at 9:30 a.m., according to the BDN.
Following a Super Tuesday victory in his home state of Texas, Cruz also nabbed victories in Oklahoma and Alaska, bringing his total count of Republican delegates to 226 — trailing Republican front-runner Donald Trump by 90 delegates.
Maine will be holding its 2016 Republican caucuses on Saturday.
