WEX inks deal with niche insurer
Corporate payment solutions company WEX Inc. (NYSE: WEX) said Thursday it signed a virtual payments agreement with Aquarium Software, a specialty insurer for pets, travel and gadgets.
No value was provided for the deal.
WEX said in a statement that the agreement helps it increase its presence in the insurance payment market both stateside and in Europe. This is the first insurance for the company’s European entity.
Jim Pratt, senior vice president and general manager for virtual payments at WEX, said in a statement that insurance is a key growth industry for the South Portland company.
