Maine’s craft-brewing industry is showing more evidence of its growth.

A stand-alone publication, the Maine Brew Guide, is set to launch in late September, the publisher, Stanley Rintz, told Mainebiz on Thursday.

Rintz is the publisher of Activities Maine, a free magazine that is circulated at retailers, including L.L.Bean.

In the past, Activities Maine has included the Brew Guide within its pages. This will be its first time as a stand-alone publication. It will cover what’s going on at breweries, beer trails, trends, events and active legislative issues. It will also offer beer reviews.

Rintz expects the launch issue to been at least 32 pages. It will come out quarterly. Maine Beer Guide is designed to dovetail around information already provided by the Maine Brewers’ Guild, a trade association.

“It seems like the industry is having steady growth. The future looks bright, with more permits and breweries planned. I don’t know what the capacity is, but it’s growing and ever-changing,” Rintz said.

The launch is expected to coincide with Maine Craft Weekend, which is Oct. 1-2 and combines the world of craft artists with the world of craft brewing. The weekend will include tours of craft studios, breweries and businesses.

Rintz is the owner of Windham-based Activity Maine, which publishes Activities Maine magazine and RaceME, a guide to running events, rides and triathlons in Maine and New Hampshire.
