The Muddy Rudder seafood restaurant in Yarmouth sold for $1.03 million at Wednesday's auction to an unnamed buyer.
“The auction was well attended and all parties were happy,” Stef Keenan, of Keenan Auction Co., told Mainebiz in a Thursday phone interview.
The auction, which attracted 10 bidders from throughout New England, took place Wednesday morning inside the restaurant, which is located at 1335 U.S. Route 1.
While the buyer's name has not yet been disclosed, Keenan said the broker information will be available after the 30-day closing period. Keenan did not disclose whether the buyer intends to keep it a restaurant.
Shortly after shutting its doors in October, the fully equipped 250-seat restaurant was listed for sale for $1.4 million, but no buyer came forward.
The restaurant, which sits on the Cousins River near the Freeport town line, is in a high-traffic location on U.S. Route 1 and visible from I-295.
