Milestone Funeral Partners, an Auburn-based funeral, cemetery and crematory business, has hired an industry veteran with experience in mergers and acquisitions to lead the company's next chapter.
Christopher Sasso has been named chief development officer. He will succeed Seb D’Appolonia, who was in the role for three years.
A spokesperson for Milestone Funeral Partners told Mainebiz that since its founding in 2021, the company has acquired 64 partner firms across New England and New York. With the addition of Sasso, the company is poised for future growth and expansion.
During his 30-year career in the funeral industry, Sasso worked with over 100 firms across the Northeast and abroad.
“We are excited to welcome Chris to our leadership team,” said Michael Martel, CEO of Milestone Funeral Partners. “His deep industry knowledge, strategic vision, and proven track record in business development will be instrumental in shaping our future growth and partnerships. Furthermore, he’s a good man who will operate in line with our core values.”
Sasso received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., and a Juris Doctor from Pace University in Westchester County, N.Y. He is admitted to the bar in both New York and Connecticut.
