Mainebiz is producing a special publication to examine the startup infrastructure in Maine and the resources available to help entrepreneurs at the various stages of the startup journey.

Maine has many organizations and programs to help startups become successful and support them along their journey — from the idea and business plan to the mentoring, consulting, pitch competitions, grant applications, growth strategies, and later rounds of financing. Each organization has a specific role or place in a startup’s evolution, yet very few people understand how the network operates. We will talk with entrepreneurs who have gone through the process to learn their successes and  struggles as well as investors to help understand what they’re looking for in a successful “pitch.”
