A week after the July Fourth holiday, Maine is now into its summer tourism season

Early predictions called for a strong summer. Acadia National Park, for example, has anticipated visitor levels on par with record-setters in 2021.

Most travel forecasts on the eve of Independence Day were also optimistic.

However, worker shortages continue. And gasoline prices, while less than their historic peaks around Memorial Day, are still high.
