Some businesses embrace the political season, and endorse candidates or take a stand on an issue going to voters. Other businesses (including Mainebiz) are nonpartisan. But regardless of the outcomes Nov. 3, many businesses wonder if the run-up to the election will distract Mainers or divert resources from the daunting challenges of economic recovery and coping with the pandemic.

Businesses should stay out of politics, since what we need is to support each other in our communities. I will help my neighbor no matter what their political belief is, but I will stay away from them if they want to talk politics.

I don't know one business that is losing or spending money on this years Presidential election. And if our Reps in Washington DC can't walk and chew gum at the same time then we need to vote them out!
