Central Maine Power Co. and Versant Power reported relatively few outages due to Winter Storm Kenan, whose timing also meant fewer disruptions than a weekday storm might have created.
Maine has faced increasing weather extremes in recent years.
Experts say new weather patterns, linked to global climate change, are already being felt in sectors such as lobstering, blueberry production and potato farming. Even Maine real estate values are at risk.
