This year's Labor Day weekend will be an especially busy one for travel, experts predict.
Roughly 57.1% of American adults, or 148 million people, intend to travel over the long holiday weekend, according to the Vacationer website. That's 10.5 million more than in 2022, or an increase of 4% from the number who had Labor Day travel plans last year.
And data from AAA shows that reservations for flights, hotels, rental cars and cruises are up 4% for this Labor Day weekend, compared to the holiday period in 2022. International bookings are up by a whopping 44%.

I don't know. Maybe I'll hop on the Interstate late afternoon and spend two hours watching the sun set as I creep forward toward NH. And after finally hitting the EZPASS at the York exit, I Zoom across the bridge so I can wait for the line in NH at the 101 intersection - thank goodness for that EZPASS. Finally past that NH toll, I can speed up enough that my speedometer actually moves the dial. Freak I'm driving right into the sun. I quickly feel around for my sunglasses to keep my retinas from burning out - ouch! Yuck! What is that gunk under the seat? Oh man. What did I spill? Crap. should I pull over? Nope. Gotta stay in my lane in case it speeds up. - Nope, I WON'T BE TRAVELING, I WILL STAY LOCAL.
